Trekking in Kumaon

Kumaon Himalayas is perfect for those trekkers who wish to meet tough challenges. It is outstanding tourist destinations in India. The Kumaon, close to the Tibetan border, Nanda Devi (7816 m), is the geographical and spiritual high point of India. Surrounding the peak is an incredible area of mighty 6000 and 7000m peaks. Nanda Devis's inner sancturay is presently off limits to climbers and trekkers. However at one time it was the coveted destination of several early 20th century journeys all of which failed to reach the sancturay until Eric Shipton and Bill Tilman reached it via the Rishi Ganga gorge in 1932. Tilman eventually climbed the main peak for the first time in 1936.

Pindari Glacier Trek
The most easily accessible glacier in the Kumaon region, the Pindari Glacier has a beauty of its own. Situated between the snow-capped Nanda Devi and Nanda Kot Mountains, Pindari is a big and steep glacier measuring 3km in length and 0.25km in breadth.
