Milam Glacier is about 28 km long, biggest glacier of the Kumaon, Uttarakhand. It originates from the slope of Kohli and Trishul peaks and situated on the south facing slope of the main Himalayan range. Milam Village which is located near the glacier is one of the highest villages in the Himalayan range. Munsyari is the base for the trek route leading to Milam glacier.

Milam Glacier Trek Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive Delhi
You arrive in Delhi by International flight. Our representative would assist you at the airport and to our hotel for check-in and overnight stay.

Day 02: Delhi - Kathgodam (Overnight Train)
After breakfast we will go on a guided tour of Delhi, beginning with sightseeing trip to the Red Fort, Gandhi Memorial at Raj Ghat. Afternoon tour includes drive around India Gate, President's House and visits to Humayun's Tomb, Lotus Temple and Qutub Minar. Later in the evening take the overnight train from Old Delhi railway station to Kathgodam.

Day 03:Kathgodam - Almora
Arrive Kathgodam at 0600 hrs.and drive to Almora about 3 - 4 hrs. towards the foothills of the Himalayas. Arrive and transfer to hotel Kasaar Jungle Resort. O/n hotel.

Day 04:Almora - Munsiary
Drive through forested hills reroute brilliant views of Nanda Devi, Panch chuli, Nanda Kot,Birthi water fall & Bhim tal.o/n in Guest House.

Day 05:Munsiary - Lilam
We will watch a magnificent sun rise on the panch chuli (five peaks)overlooking Munsiary. The trek starts 2 hrs. Descending to the base of Gori ganga river through well defined paved trail & 3 hrs. Gradual up through narrow George enroute waterfall and the forest of bamboos to Lilam. o/n in tent.(1860m)

Day 06: Lilam - Bogdier
After breakfast we trek through dense, semi-tropical rain forest and thick bamboo, which grows on the hill slopes. Need great care as the trail marked on the steep slopes of the narrow George. After lunch on the way we continue ascending along the George for another couple of hrs. to rest house and police check post at Bogdier.(2450m 14 km, 6hrs.) o/n in tents.

Day 07: Bogdier - Railkot
We have a easy ascend most of the morning. After 2hrs. we reach the beautiful opening of the George and a small trail-side shrine to a local deity(Nehar Devi) which stands under an enormous cliff wall. Leaving the jungle below we ascend out of the narrow gorge and pass a number of waterfalls & undulating slopes to reach our campsite just beyond the check post.(3200m,6 to 7hrs,16km) o/n in tents.

Day 08: Railkot - Ganagar
We follow the trail that ascend to the sparsely inhabited village of Martoli, where we watch our first glimpse of Nanda Devi East (7418m) and on to the north Milam village and Trishuli can be seen. The settlement, with only a few families left, is evidence of the general de-population of the area. After descend for half and hour the trail leads gradual up to Ganagar. Our tent at Ganagar sits at the head of Pachu valley, an amazing view of Nanda Devi East. (3200m,12 km,6 hrs.)O/n in tents.

Day 09: Ganagar - Base Nanda Devi East

The narrow trail climb steadily through small stretches of rhododendron, juniper and birch forest offering the view of main Nanda Devi (7818m). As we pass by the peak of Nanda Bhanger (5900m), the valley opens up to reveal beautiful, lush alpine meadows. A beautiful campsite lies within a few distance of the foot of the Nanda Devi. (3900m, 4 hrs.)

Day 10: Base Camp
A full day rest or exploration around the stunning campsite.

Day11: Base Camp - Milam
After breakfast at 9, we will re tracing our steps back to Pachhu and will cross Gori river, explore the life style of the nearby villages. Our campsite is in Village after crossing the Gori Ganga River. (3300m, 5 hrs.) O/n in tents.

Day12: Milam - Milam Glacier
We make an early start, hiking above the Milam glacier to an area known as Secha kund. The trail leads us to the confluence of several impressive moraine and glacier, surrounded by 7000mtrs.peak including stunning Trishuli and Hardeol.Day hike to 4000m and back to Milam village. (7/8 hrs.o/n in tent)

Day13: 14. 15. 16: Milam - Munsiary

For four day we trek to Milam Glacier, Martali, Bagdiyar, Lilam and back to Munsiary.There is a single trail use extensively by the local people. We end our trek after steep ascend to Munsiary.o/n in tent.

Day 17: Munsiary - Nainital
Drive back starting early to reach Nainital. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 18: Nainital - Delhi
Time transfer to Kathgodam Railway Station to Catch the Overnight train to Delhi. Tour and Service ends.
